This Internet-based Self-assessment Program was designed based on the professional knowledge of many senior psychiatrists. Depression will be the second most burdensome illness in the 21st century. Early diagnosis of the disorder in a more convenient and faster way in order to provide proper treatment is urgent if severe depression is to be prevented. However, people often feel uncomfortable walking into a psychiatric clinic to seek help. The internet is convenient and private, so we designed a self-assessment program which is safe and meets international professional standards. This program aims to help people identify depression earlier. The ISP-D is the first depression assessment program which utilizes interactive design especially for internet users to detect depressive illness. It is also one of the few international depression programs that is web-based while performing clinical studies. This program has been validated by clinical studies and is now available to individuals worldwide. |
