The Team for the Assessment of Psychiatric Services [TAPS] is composed of multidicisplinary research workers. It was set up in 1983 by North East Thames Regional Health Authority and is jointly funded by the Department of Health and The Gatsby Foundation.

The TAPS Research Unit is administered by the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London. The aim of its research is to evaluate the policy of replacing psychiatric hospitals with community based services.

The Galil Center was established to support basic and applied research in Telemedicine and Medical Informatics - to ensure that new medical technologies will benefit as broad a population as possible.

The Galil Center offers medical professionals and industries in the telemedicine and related fields the opportunity to collaborate on research and development projects with the Technion's world-renowned Computer Sciences, Medicine and Biomedical Engineering Faculties and in a country where the cutting edge of telecommunications and medicine converge..

The Galil Center will address all aspects of this evolving field, including technical, medical, logistical and legal aspects. Basic research programs at their pre-commercial stages will be sponsored by the Center, and ongoing ties with related industries in the field will be maintained.

The Center will also initiate academic courses in Telehealth and Medical informatics for Medical and Medical Research students of the Faculty of Medicine. In time the course will become a required part of the curriculum in order to familiarize the new physicians and scientists with the field of telemedicine.

The Technical Assistance Partnership for Child and Family Mental Health [TA Partnership] operates under contract with the federal Center for Mental Health Services to provide technical assistance to system of care communities funded by the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Children and Their Families Program. The TA Partnership is a collaboration between 2 mission-driven organizations:
  1. The American Institutes for Research - committed to improvement in the lives of families and communities through the translation of research into best practice and policy
  2. The Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health — dedicated to effective family leadership and advocacy to improve the quality of life of children with mental health needs and their families

The mission of the TA Partnership is to support communities in their efforts to successfully develop and implement local systems of care.
