The goals of the International Association of Forensic Mental Health Services [IAFMHS] are to:
  • Enhance the standards of forensic mental health services in the international community
  • Promote an international dialogue about forensic mental health, in all its aspects, including violence and family violence
  • Promote education, training and research in forensic mental health
  • Inform professional communities and the public about current issues in forensic mental health
  • Promote and utilize advance technologies in the pursuit of the above goals
  • Form informal and formal liaison with organizations having a similar purpose

The official publication of IAFMHS is the International Journal of Forensic Mental Health.

Founded in 1950, the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics [IAGG] (until 2004, the International Association of Gerontology) has 70 member organizations worldwide with a combined membership of over 45,100. IAG is a non-governmental organization [NGO] with consultative status with the Economic and Social Council [ECOSOC] of the United Nations [UN].

Objectives are to promote:

  • Gerontological research
  • Training in the field of aging
  • The interests of gerontological organizations in international affairs

IAGG holds a World Congress every 4 years.
