The George Hull Centre for Children and Families works with families and in partnership with other community services and groups to improve the mental health of the children and youth of our community.

Objectives are to:

  • Provide support, education and advocacy for the prevention of emotional, behavioural and adaptive problems in infants, children and young persons
  • Provide comprehensive and accessible treatment services for children and adolescents
  • Conduct research to better understand how to meet the mental health needs of children and adolescents
  • Serve as a teaching centre and providing high quality educational experiences for mental health professionals

The Centre serves as a Teaching Centre for the Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto.

The mission of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society [HFES] is to promote the discovery and exchange of knowledge concerning the characteristics of human beings that are applicable to the design of systems and devices of all kinds.

The Society furthers serious consideration of knowledge about the assignment of appropriate functions for humans and machines, whether people serve as operators, maintainers, or users in the system. And, it advocates systematic use of such knowledge to achieve compatibility in the design of interactive systems of people, machines, and environments to ensure their effectiveness, safety, and ease of performance.

The Society was founded in 1957 as the Human Factors Society of America. Its 4,800 members worldwide are psychologists, engineers, designers, and scientists with a common interest in designing systems, tools, consumer products, and equipment to be safe and effective for the people who operate and maintain them.

The official publication of HFES is >Human Factors.
