Office of Minority Health [OMH] (You can click above for the sponsor's home page) | |
|---|---|
About: | The mission and goal at the Office of the Associate Director for Minority Health are based on this philosophy: for minority health initiatives to be effective, they must be operational in the centers, institutes, offices, and programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC] and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry [ATSDR]. These initiatives, where appropriate, must be transferred to state and local government and nongovernment agencies and organizations.
This office, therefore, assumes an operational versus a programmatic management approach in achieving its mission. Such a management approach demands ongoing interaction and communication between CDC; ATSDR; the Public Health Service; other Federal officials; state and local government officials; and the leadership of nongovernmental agencies and organizations, including voluntary agencies, community-based organizations, philanthropic groups, and others. |
