The Australian Society of Hypnosis [ASH] was formed in 1971 to provide training and education in hypnosis for health professionals.The Society either directly provides or works with universities to provide training in hypnosis for medical practitioners, psychologists, and dentists. Branches of the Society, located in each state, also run advanced and specialist hypnosis training programmes, designed to foster clinical skills development across the range of applications of hypnosis in medical, psychological and dental settings. There are about 1200 registered professional members.

The Australian Society of Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynaecology is a multi-disciplinary society committed to furthering the understanding of psychosocial aspects of women's health, particularly in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology.

Objectives:

  • Foster and promote increased awareness of psychological, socio-cultural and ethical issues relevant to obstetrics, gynaecology and reproductive medicine
  • Promote and facilitate sharing of scientific research into psychosocial aspects of obstetrics, gynaecology and reproductive medicine
  • Increase sharing of clinical and practical knowledge relevant to improving the psychological health and well-being of women and their families, especially in obstetric and gynaecological settings
